Camisha Beverly, Director of Admissions for Anthem Institute Cherry Hill, wanted to do a team-building exercise that would have real impact. She decided to launch a campus-wide education campaign about the work done by the United Nations Children`s Fund, better known as Unicef.
Unicef tackles some of the toughest jobs for the UN. Its staff work around the globe to improve child survival and development; promote gender equality, especially in education; prevent mother-child HIV transmission and treat AIDS; and strengthen child protection laws.
The Cherry Hill team also collected change during the month of October to contribute to Unicef, because as Camisha will tell you, “Every kid counts!”
The group wrapped up the month with a “Bring a Friend” fundraiser. They treated Cherry Hill students to a pretzel if they brought a friend to school or donated 50 cents for Unicef. They raised $65 in just one day.
It was so popular, they ran out of pretzels!
