Colorado has a very strong health care industry. In fact, Health Care and Social Assistance (HCSA) employment has increased every year in Colorado since 1990. Going forward, the Denver metropolitan area is expected to continue along this trend. From 2011 to 2013, the healthcare industry is expected to grow at an annual rate of 2.55 percent for a total of 6,977 jobs. These numbers get even better in long-term projections. From 2010 to 2020, HCSA employment is expected to increase at an annual rate of 3.09 percent. This equals a 35.6 percent increase, or 47,031 jobs.
There is certainly no shortage of health care employers in the area. According to Colorado Labor Market Information, top health care employers include: Medical Center of Aurora, Quest Diagnostics, Children’s Hospital Colorado and Bonfils Blood Center. Columbine Physicians Group, another local medical employer in the Aurora area, is actually run by an Anthem College-Aurora graduate.
By providing students with the training and knowledge that employers want to see, we help them prepare to compete for entry-level positions in their fields after they graduate.
