X-ray technology is over a century old, but it continues to provide key information physicians need to diagnose and treat injury and disease. Limited scope x-ray technicians bring distinctive skills to medical teams involved in direct patient care.
Anthem College—Aurora trains students to perform x-ray and electrocardiograms through its Associate of Applied Science in Limited Scope X-Ray Technician.
Students take in-depth courses in anatomy of the spine, skull, and torso-skeletal system. They learn proper patient care and positioning techniques, radiologic procedures and radiation safety. They complete training in laboratory procedures, injections, venipuncture and blood collection.
The associate program provides the foundation for long-term career opportunities and includes classes and skills to boost professional development. Students take courses in ethics, communication, healthcare compliance and computer applications, in addition to clinical courses.
A class on career success provides practical training that helps students better manage their financial and personal resources during and after college.
At Anthem College, we want to give our students the support they need to succeed. We offer:
After they have completed their classes, students enter an externship where they work under the supervision of a physician or radiologist technician to practice in a real-world x-ray and back-office environments. Program graduates can sit for the Colorado State Competency Evaluation for a Limited Scope X-ray Technician.
