Anthem Education Group

Massage Therapy Program

Massage Therapists are trained to use touch to manipulate soft tissue muscles in the body for general health, or to treat pain, decompress strained muscles, reduce stress, and rehabilitate sport injuries.

The Massage Therapy program offered by Anthem Education schools and colleges gives students hands-on training in different types of massage and soft tissue manipulation techniques. Coursework covers items such as posture, body systems and hydrotherapy, and psychology.

(This program is also known as  Massage Therapist .)

Each campus that offers the Massage Therapy program houses an onsite massage therapy clinic open to the public. Students who have completed their coursework work in the clinic providing massages to customers, under close supervision from instructors.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics(BLS) offers an encouraging future for the massage therapy profession. As an increasing number of states adopt regulations for massage therapists, the practice gains more acceptance and respect. At the same time, more insurance providers are considering covering massage therapy, at least as riders that consumers can purchase with their policies. In addition, massage clinic franchises have expanded in recent years, providing more job opportunities for massage therapists and expanding the market for massage therapy clients who cannot afford higher-cost spas.

Given all these factors, BLS expects a 20% increase in employment for massage therapists between 2010 and 2020!

Program graduates can compete for entry-level employment in clinical offices, sport facilities, or work independently from businesses or in private homes. Read about one of our students who turned to Massage Therapy and discovered an  inspiring second career as a self-employed Massage Therapist.
