Anthem College—Orlando offers a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma that provides extensive hands-on training for students preparing to enter the Pharmacy Assistant field.
Students take courses in pharmacology, chemotherapy, intravenous treatments and antibiotics. They study compounding, learn how to calculate reconstituted dosages, and prepare dietary supplements.
Students also learn about legal issues that affect pharmacy operations, and study the work environments of hospital and retail pharmacies. They learn about inventory control and proper stocking and ordering procedures.

After successfully completing required courses, students enter externships with retail or hospital pharmacies to practice in a supervised, real-world environment.
Students who complete the Pharmacy Assistant program can compete for several types of entry-level technician positions in hospital, long-term care and retail pharmacy settings. One of our graduates was named Technician of the Year for 2011 and 2012 by the Florida Pharmacy Association.
