Equipment
Every student receives a network and computer tool kit. These kits contain screwdrivers, pliers, cabling crimpers, strippers, punch down tool and cable tester for various network connections.
The computers utilized range from Pentium II to Pentium IV computers. In addition, a number of different network file servers, printers, CD-ROMs, and multi-media devices are used. Networking devices including various hubs, switches, routers, wireless NICs and access points are also used.
The software used includes client operating systems, MS-DOS, Windows 95/98/XP, and Windows NT and Windows 2000 Server / Professional. The network operating systems used are Microsoft Windows 2000 / 2003, and Linux. The various application software utilized is: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, e-mail packages, anti-viruses, Visio, and computer diagnostic software.
