Equipment
Every student receives a networking tool kit that contains screwdrivers, pliers, punch-downs, cable crimpers and a cable tester.
The hardware used in this program ranges from Pentium I to Pentium IV computers. In addition, a number of different network file servers, printers, CD-ROM's, multimedia devices, hubs, switches, and routers are also used.
The software used includes client operating systems, MS-DOS, Windows 95/98/ME, and Windows NT and Windows 2000 Server / Professional. The network operating systems used are Novell NetWare, Microsoft Windows 2000 and Linux. The various application software utilized is: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, FrontPage (the Microsoft Office Suite), e-mail packages, anti-viruses, Visio and computer diagnostic software.
