
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and mid-level abilities in criminal and juvenile justice, criminology, law enforcement and the procedural aspects of crime and justice. This degree is grounded in a theoretical framework derived from the social, behavioral, managerial, informational, and practical sciences. The Bachelor of Science program enables the student to select a concentration that will give the student added focus in a specific area of criminal justice. The degree provides students the opportunity to broaden their crime and justice knowledge by attaining a bachelor's degree.
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program provides students with the development of appropriate analytical and management skills, procedural and investigative research, and decision making abilities. Students will learn the conceptual and practical skills needed to become a criminal justice professional. Upon completion of this degree, graduates will be prepared for advance into supervisory or management positions in their chosen fields.
Each course stands alone as a unit of study and is not dependent upon prerequisite training. A student may enter the program at the beginning of any course and continue through the sequence until completion of all courses. The course work consists of lecture/demonstration and practical applications.
